2 very silly thoughts from me.
#1 I wish Obama hadn't laughed so much. I realize McCain was spouting some serious crap but it can look very arrogant and rude to see the split screen and one man speaking seriously and the other one--- apparently -- laughing at him.
Also
Why does McCain have to whistle like that groundhog from Winnie the Pooh when he talks? ANNOYING.

My so-called Republican Boyfriend said Obama looked smug, so I agree with your first comment. And yes, the whistle has got to go.
I enjoyed watching McCain get all riled up with nowhere to go. McCain's best debate performance yet, but that's also like saying "Palin did considerable well." When the expectations are set low, all you have to do is speak in coherent sentences to get by.
I am a diehard Obamaite, but I agree. He can come off as smug and 'elitist' I think that what he was going for here was to prove that he was listening-- so many times when you are looking at the split screen the candidates have totally straight faces, so as not to convey any kind of emotion, so no one can say that they came off as anything other than having a pulse. :)
