I know it's not an intellectual show or anything, but I have weak spot for ANTM *otherwise known as America's Next Top Model* I've watched every episode this season and last night was the finale.
So last night after TEN (10!!) cycles a "full-figured" girl finally took home the prize.

I'm not a huge ANTM fan- but damn I lurveeeeeeeeee Whitney!
And I so want the pink dress.
I know it is a step forward for this show, but I just don't see her as being 'full-figured' or 'plus size.'
My sister also lets her daughters (aged 3, 5, and 7) watch and then dresses them up as 'next top model' for Halloween. That weirds me out a bit - I don't want kids growing up to think that's how they have to look in order to be beautiful.
Love the show, missed most of it this season though, boooo.
By every day standards, no Whitney is not plus-sized. However, in the modeling world she is. Tyra has acknowledged this issue every season there has been a full-figured woman in the competition. It sucks but the cycle isn't ever going to end unless someone actively tries to change the entire modeling world - which I don't ever see happening. Who knows though, maybe this is the first step.
